There are four types of conversations, each with different charges:

Any conversation which is in regards to promotional or marketing messages is considered as Marketing conversation.

- Utility: 

Any conversation which consists of any transactional Updates or specific customer requests is considered as Utility based conversations.

- Authentication:

When a customer sends a message to your business on WhatsApp, a 24 hour customer service window opens, which resets every time the customer sends a new message.
  • During this 24 hour period, your business can send free-form messages (normal replies) without using templates.

  • You can send unlimited responses within this window to assist the customer.

If the 24 hour window expires:

  • You must send a pre-approved message template to restart the conversation.

Charges apply only when businesses initiate conversations using template messages such as marketing, utility, or authentication messages
